Work Today: Yes 6am-4pm

Holy crap what a day! Short of sleep I have emerged into a full blown cold, so DayQuil and NyQuil will be assessed. My Russians are going home early because of the loss to Baltimore Revo, which hurts, but kudos to Revo they played better than they’ve played all year. Houston Heat is literally on fire, and Impact and Dynasty should be pissed off that they tripped up. Wild weekend!

83 Days Remaining – 2017 World Cup Starts Today!

Day 5 of no coffee and still doing great! I may never go back! Just kidding, I’m going straight back to it on Monday. Of course, the first set of matches start at 8:30, and I’m going to have to bring my son to school by 9 so I’m going to miss a crucial few minutes of it, but I’m banking on my Russians surviving the behemoths of Dynasty and Heat today. Of course, if Aftershock wins World Cup I would be so proud to see such a historically awesome team kill it.

84 Days Until The Combine

Day 4 of no coffee and I have to say I’m doing much better than the last few times I cycled out caffeine. What is bothering me however is some kind of throat irritation, which I picked up trick or treating with the kids on Halloween, being in the cold for a few hours and breathing through my mouth. I noticed it yesterday, but it clearly isn’t finished today. What is interesting about it is that it is exclusively in my throat, no other symptoms. I mean of course I’m getting a little bit of brain fog from not being in homeostasis, but that’s manageable. I’m also waiting for a fresh shipment of Qualia, so I’ll just blame the brain fog on that.

85 Days Remain!

Day 3 of no Coffee, and it’s still going okay. I’m even more proud that I successfully dodged the Halloween candy draw. Even better, today is a day off from work, and I have plenty I’d like to get done today.

Nick Slowiak in an interview with Matty Marshall talks about how Mishka snap shoots differently than normal, thinking of “positive and negative”. Of course there’s nothing on the internet explaining what the hell he’s talking about, so I’m poring over games trying to see what he’s talking about.

87 Days Until I Think of Something Clever

Monday Funday! People still say that right? Neither do I. In any case, today is work 4am-2pm, with a little extra travel time to Restaurant Depot for a few supplies, which means Podcasts FOREVER!

I just heard recently about a study out of Finland that showed that people who exposed themselves to a Sauna before bed were able to get higher quality sleep. So I took my first HOT shower in months, and I do believe I experienced a favorable result, considering I only got 6 hours of sleep which would normally make me a little cranky.

In a double-whammy decision, the Neurohacker Collective suggests that once every 3 months or so you should cut out your caffeine intake to restore your tolerance. I’m not really a fan of this one, but I do love a challenge, so I’ve decided this week will be my caffeine-free (I love hyphens) Hell Week! It usually doesn’t get too difficult until later in the week. But if I say anything strange, you know what happened.

After work I was able to spend a little time on dry practice, working on walking while keeping the marker steady, as well as some snap shooting form work. Important stuff!
